Fueled by a desire to blend her passion for communication and the visual arts, Andrea Riley attended the University of Michigan, where she received a Bachelor of Arts in film and video studies. Post-college, she gained hands-on experience as a creative services intern at CBS, which ignited her love for the broadcast television industry.
She went on to hone her skills as the lead video editor at Midwest Video Company where she edited a diverse array of projects for over a decade, serving automotive clients, market researchers and small businesses. When Midwest Video closed, Riley sought to align her career with her deep-seated interests in the arts, education and social justice. This led her to Detroit PBS, where she’s thrilled to contribute her talents and enthusiasm.
In addition to her role at Detroit PBS, Riley is a film critic for The Movie Sleuth and has been featured on NPR’s “Stateside,” offering her insights on a range of film-related topics. Outside of her professional life, she enjoys working out, exploring new destinations and spending time with her friends.
