Zosette Guir

Zosette Guir oversees content operations and production for Detroit PBS’ award-winning news and public affairs programs, “One Detroit” and “American Black Journal.” She is a second-generation Filipina American who believes in storytelling that reflects people’s daily lived experiences.
After receiving her bachelor’s degree in communications studies from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Zosette worked on various production projects in the metro Detroit area, including Autoweek’s Vinsetta Garage, the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Awards for Crain’s Detroit Business, “Detroit Performs,” “Great Lakes Now: Connect,” and “The Seven Generation River.” After joining Detroit PBS’ national documentary unit in 2014, she worked on nationally distributed PBS documentaries such as “When I’m 65” and “Ride the Tiger.”
She then became managing producer for Detroit PBS’ One Detroit, a news and public affairs program grounded in immersive community engagement. In her current position, she works with producers across the station’s local news and public affairs programs and leads its Asian American and Pacific Islander Advisory Committee comprised of community stakeholders within southeast Michigan.
Her work has been honored with awards by the Society of Professional Journalists Detroit Chapter, the Michigan Association of Broadcasters and the Michigan Emmys. She currently serves as the governing board representative for the Michigan Chapter of the Asian American Journalists Association.
