Hate Crimes Spike in Michigan / Hugs Not Bullets

On the next American Black Journal: New FBI statistics show that hate crimes reported to police spiked last year in Michigan.  Stephen talks with the head of the Michigan Department of Civil Rights about this disturbing trend.  Plus, local students team up with the Detroit Police Department to urge residents to celebrate the New Year without firing guns into the sky.  And a special Detroit Performs feature about Detroit poet Tawana Petty.
