We’re celebrating the holidays with jazz. Vocalist Joan Belgrave talks with Stephen about an international music showcase she produced earlier this year in New York, prior to the pandemic. The event introduced the world to Detroit jazz and the music and teachings of her late husband, trumpeter Marcus Belgrave. For the first time on television, ABJ viewers will see highlights from the production. Plus, One Detroit Associate Producer Will Glover talks with drummer Tariq Gardner, son of renowned bassist Marion Hayden, about being mentored by Detroit jazz greats, many of whom are featured in the DPTV documentary, “Detroit Jazz City.”
