American Black Journal – Ford & DAPCEP / Asbury Park

Ford Motor Company is making a huge investment in the engineers of tomorrow by donating $250,000 to the Detroit Area Pre-College Engineering Program, also known as DAPCEP. Stephen talks with Ford’s Chief Technology Officer, DAPCEP’s Executive Director & a Ford engineer & DAPCEP alum about how the funding will create new opportunities in STEM careers for underrepresented students.  Plus, a Detroit filmmaker talks about his new movie, “Asbury Park,” and its focus on mental health awareness, police brutality and other issues faced by youth in the inner city.
