On the next American Black Journal: May is Mental Health Awareness Month. Stephen talks with Kevin Fischer, head of the Michigan Chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), about the need for people to treat their mental health just like their physical health.

They also discuss efforts to eliminate the stigma associated with mental illness, especially in the African American community.

Plus, retired U.S. Senator Carl Levin sits down with Stephen to talk about his new memoir chronicling his long and illustrious career in public office.
