Black Detroit: A People’s History of Self-Determination / Dream Deferred: Detroit, 1967

On the next American Black Journal: Award-winning author Herb Boyd joins Stephen to talk about his new book that documents the stories of African Americans in Detroit from the 1800s to the present day. Plus, a local production by the Matrix Theatre Company gives voice to the unique experiences and perspectives of Detroiters immediately following the 1967 civil disturbance.
