2017 Detroit Jazz Festival

On the next American Black Journal: The world’s largest free jazz festival takes over downtown Detroit over the Labor Day weekend. We’ll find out what’s new, who’s performing, and how the popular event benefits Detroit.  Plus, we’ll have a performance by this year’s Artist-in-Residence. And, we remember comedian and civil rights activist Dick Gregory with a look back at his interview on Detroit Black Journal in 1981. Don’t miss American Black Journal on Sunday at 9:30 a.m. and again on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. on Detroit PBS, WTVS-Channel 56.
