Detroit Public Theatre’s 2nd annual Holiday Cabaret puts modern twist on classic performance

The holiday season is getting an extra dose of cheer at Detroit Public Theatre with its 2024 Holiday Cabaret. Now in its second year, the production has become a new tradition, offering a unique twist on the classic holiday performance.

Running through December 22, the Holiday Cabaret blends festive fun with a bold, modern flair. It features a mix of holiday tunes, from familiar classics to unexpected surprises. The performance aims to capture all the emotions that come with the season — the joy, the chaos, and everything in between — said Dev, one of the performers in this year’s cabaret.

Guest Host Trudy Gallant-Stokes talks with Dev about the musical numbers, the cast members, and what makes the production different. They also talk about Dev’s musical career and experiences growing up in Detroit.
