Honoring Detroit Legends Mary Wilson & Charles McGee: Detroit recently lost two iconic artists–Mary Wilson (The Supremes) and Charles McGee. Wilson was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, was an author, and fiercely loved Detroit. Charles McGee’s artwork can be seen all around the city. Wilson appeared on Detroit Black Journal in 1986, and McGee talks about his work in his own words in a recent Detroit Performs segment.

Rochelle Riley + Dave Wagner: Dave Wagner talks to the Director of Arts and Culture for the city of Detroit, Rochelle Riley about the year-long “Undefeated” initiative and her new book that harnesses the cuteness of children dressed as Historical Black figures accompanied by short essays about these historical heavy hitters.
