One Detroit – In-Home Healthcare / College with COVID / Ministry Beyond the Church Walls

 Tonight on One Detroit:

Fixing In-Home Healthcare:

Michigan needs tens of thousands more home health aides right now to care for seniors seeking to remain at home in their final years.
One Detroit’s Bill Kubota spoke to Ted Roelofs (Bridge Michigan) and Sarah Rahal (The Detroit News) about their recent stories on this caregiving crisis and efforts to recruit and retain these essential workers.

Their reports are part of a series on issues related to caregiving supported by the New York & Michigan Solutions Journalism Collaborative, which includes DPTV’s One Detroit.

College with Covid

This time of year, students are taking the SAT and ACT, thinking about college. Christy talks with New York Times bestselling author and higher education journalist, Jeffrey Selingo, about his book “Who Gets In and Why: A Year Inside College Admissions” and about how changes to higher ed during Covid could influence how students think about college going forward.

Ministry Beyond the Church Walls

From American Black Journal’s latest installment of the yearlong series, “The Black Church in Detroit,” Stephen Henderson talks with Bishop Charles Ellis III of Greater Grace Temple and Reverend Charles Christian Adams of Hartford Memorial Baptist Church about the role of the church in meeting more than just spiritual needs.
