One Detroit mourns the loss of Christy McDonald’s husband Jamie Samuelsen

Today, August 2, 2020, Detroit PBS and the entire Detroit community mourn the passing of veteran broadcaster, Jamie Samuelsen, the husband of One Detroit Managing Editor Christy McDonald.

Since 1994, Samuelsen brought warmth, intelligence and humor to local sports journalism, which made him hugely popular in a sports-crazy town like Detroit. Most recently, he was the co-host with partner Michael Stone of the “Jamie and Stoney’ morning show on 97.1 The Ticket. Our deepest condolences to Christy and their family. Our thoughts and hearts are with them.

On August 6, Stephen Henderson honored Jamie during our One Detroit broadcast.  You can watch his remembrance above.
