One Detroit Weekend | Things to do around Detroit this weekend: March 21, 2025

A handful of theater performances are coming to town this weekend, including “Alice Through the Looking Glass” at the Boardwalk Theatre in St. Clair and “Detroit ‘67” at the Detroit Public Theatre. Plus, catch music performances such as The Simon & Garfunkel Story at the Andiamo Celebrity Showroom in Warren and vocalist Catherine Russell at the DSO Max M. and Marjorie S. Fisher Music Center in Detroit. You can also enjoy the outdoors with maple syrup tours at Maybury Farms in Northville. Upcoming Events: 

  • The Secret Society of Twisted Storytellers presents “Women Warriors” for Women’s History Month on March 21 at the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History in Detroit. 
  • The Simon & Garfunkel Story comes to the Andiamo Celebrity Showroom in Warren on March 21. The concert-style experience through the journey of the duo’s musical career.  
  • Cabaret 313 presents vocalist Catherine Russell’s “Swing, Soul and Stories” at The Cube at the Detroit Symphony Orchestra’s Max M. and Marjorie S. Fisher Music Center in Detroit on March 22.  
  • The Boardwalk Theatre in St. Clair presents the play “Alice Through the Looking Glass” March 22 through April 19. The classic tale follows Alice into a where everything, even logic, is turned upside down. 
  • Detroit Public Theatre puts on award-winning playwright Dominique Morisseau’s “Detroit ‘67” on March 22. The play takes viewers back to Detroit in 1967 and the historical uprising that happened that year. 
  • The Flint Repertory Theatre presents “A Driving Beat” through March 30 at the Elgood Theatre in Flint. The play explores how a son and his adoptive mother navigate their differing identities during a cross-country road trip.  
  • Maybury Farms in Northville hosts maple syrup tours on weekend days through March 30 at the farm. The tour includes a wagon ride, interactive educational lessons and maple syrup samples at the end. 
  • The 29th annual Exhibition of Artists in Michigan Prisons takes place at the University of MIchigan Gallery Duderstadt Center in Ann Arbor. The exhibit runs through April 1.
