This weekend, enjoy some winter fun with the Brrmingham Blast in downtown Birmingham and Zehnder’s Snowfest in Frankenmuth. There are also a handful of upcoming performances, including “Hadestown” at the Fisher Theatre in Detroit and the “Moonglade” tour presented by Of The Trees at the Royal Oak Music Theatre. Plus, don’t miss a chance to see The Spiral Quartet perform during the Structurally Sound concert series at the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History in Detroit. Upcoming Events:
- Producer and visual artist Of The Trees brings the “Moonglade” tour to Royal Oak Music Theatre on Jan. 24 with support from Detox Unity, Opiuo and Sylph.
- The Spiral Quartet performs during the Structurally Sound concert series on Jan. 24 at the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History. The program features the world premieres of two compositions by Black composers.
- Cabaret 313 present “Lost in Ann Arbor: Detroit Edition” at the Detroit Opera’s Black Box theater on Jan. 25. The concert features songs performed by University of Michigan Musical Theatre students.
- The Brrmingham Blast takes place in downtown Birmingham on Jan. 25. The free event features a zip line, food trucks, marshmallow roasting, retail promotions and more.
- Hollywood Casino at Greektown presents a Lunar New Year concert on Jan. 25 at the Music Hall Center for the Performing Arts. This year is the year of the snake.
- The Detroit Symphony Orchestra brings the music of Johann Sebastian Bach to communities across Southeast Michigan through Jan. 26 with its Bach’s Coffeehouse performances.
- Broadway in Detroit presents the Grammy and Tony Award-winning musical “Hadestown” at the Fisher Theatre Jan. 28 – Feb. 2. The musical is a modern retelling of two Greek myths.
- Zehnder’s of Frankenmuth hosts Zehnder’s Snowfest Jan. 29 – Feb. 2. The annual winter festival features snow and ice sculptures, fireworks, a petting zoo, children’s activities and more.
