Grab your favorite green outfit and get ready for St. Patrick’s Day celebrations around Detroit, including the city’s Saint Patrick’s Day parade in Corktown and the Shamrock Festival at the Detroit Festival Grounds.
If you’re in the mood for a performance, check out the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater at the Detroit Opera House or the Il Volo World Tour at the Fox Theatre. Plus, Dude Dad’s On Thin Ice comedy tour brings the laughs to Royal Oak Music Theatre.

Upcoming Events:
- The Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre brings four special performances to the Detroit Opera House March 14-16 as part of its 2024-2025 U.S. Tour.
- The Professional Youth Theatre of Michigan presents the musical “Wizard of Oz” March 14-16 and March 21-23 at the Riverside Arts Center in Ypsilanti.
- The Detroit Shamrock Festival takes place March 15 at the Detroit Festival Grounds. The festival includes live music, food trucks, a giant heated tent and beer to enjoy.
- Comedian Taylor Calmus brings his Dude Dad’s On Thin Ice Tour to the Royal Oak Music Theatre on March 15.
- The 2025 Curling Fest takes place at the Arctic Breakaway Ice Arena in Chelsea on March 15. The event includes all-you-can-eat pizza, salad and pop, tabletop curling, an open skate and more.
- The Detroit Saint Patrick’s Day Parade, one of the country’s largest St. Patrick’s Day celebrations, takes place March 16 in Corktown.
- Detroit artist Sky Covington brings her Satin Doll Revue to Aretha’s Jazz Cafe on March 17, featuring performances from Covington, Thornetta Davis, Veronique Musique and Lady Vonne.
- The Il Volo World Tour comes to the Fox Theatre in Detroit on March 18. The performance showcases the extraordinary voices of Piero Barone, Ignazio Boschetto and Gianluca Ginoble.
