Things to do around Detroit this weekend: December 27, 2024
It’s officially the holidays and there are several ways to celebrate in and around Detroit, including the Kwanzaa & Kulture Community Bowling Day at Garden Bowl, Trans-Siberian Orchestra’s “The Lost Christmas Eve” performance, and the Aurora Winter Wanderland at Glenlore Trails.

- Broadway in Detroit presents “A Beautiful Noise: The Neil Diamond Musical” at the Fisher Theatre through Jan. 5.
- Garden Bowl in Detroit hosts a Kwanzaa & Kulture Community Bowling Day on Dec. 27. The event features two hours of bowling, music, food, fun and more.
- Trans-Siberian Orchestra brings its “The Lost Christmas Eve” performance to Little Caesars Arena in Detroit on Dec. 28.
- The Village Theater at Cherry Hill in Canton hosts the Detroit Circus Dec. 31 for its New Year’s Eve show, featuring aerial artists, trapeze, acrobatics, fire dancing and more.
- The Detroit Historical Society presents the “Detroit Lions: Gridiron Heroes” exhibit through Aug. 24, 2025. The exhibit showcases highlights from the team since 1934.
- Glenlore Trails in Commerce Township presents its Aurora Winter Wanderland through Dec. 29. The night walk features bright lights, interactive elements and magic wands that let you unlock hidden surprises along the trail.
- MJ Live, the world’s no. 1 Michael Jackson tribute concert, takes place Dec. 29 at the Sound Board stage at MotorCity Casino.
- Comedian Brian Regan brings his sophisticated writing and comedic physicality to The Fillmore Detroit on Dec. 30.
