Things to do in Detroit this weekend: September 27, 2024
Fall events are in full swing this weekend with the Fire & Flannel Festival in downtown Wyandotte, Pumpkin Patch Night in West Bloomfield and Drafting Table Brewing Company’s Oktoberfest.
There are also chances to see art, comedy and theater during the Detroit Month of Design, a one-act comedy at Planet Ant Theatre in Hamtramck, and “A Bronx Tale: The One Man Show Starring Chazz Palminteri” at Detroit’s Fisher Theatre. See what else is happening around town on “One Detroit Weekend.”
Upcoming Events:
- TreeRunner Adventure Park in West Bloomfield hosts Pumpkin Patch Night Sept. 27-28 where attendees can kick off fall under the beautifully lit trees and some music.
- Drafting Table Brewing Company in Wixom hosts an Oktoberfest party Sept. 27-28 featuring German style beers, special draft releases, and the Long Dog Dash.
- Planet Ant Theatre in Hamtramck presents “Silly Goose – A Planet Ant Farm Team Original One Act Comedy,” a one-act play about a goose who takes on a town’s mayor to win over its citizens. The play runs Sept. 27 – Oct. 5.
- “A Bronx Tale: The One Man Show Starring Chazz Palminteri” plays at the Fisher Theatre in Detroit on Sept. 28. The one-man show brings 18 characters from the film and TV star’s autobiographical play to life.
- Greenfield Village in Dearborn takes a trip back in time with its Detroit Central Market Weekend Sept. 28-29. The event features a reconstructed 1860s market and includes local vendors, chef demonstrations and other programming. s
- The Fire & Flannel Festival takes place through Sept. 29 in the Yack Arena parking lot in downtown Wyandotte. The festival includes ax throwing, chainsaw carving, dancing witches, live music and more.
- The South Lyon Area Pumpkin Fest takes place Sept. 28-29 in downtown South Lyon. This year’s theme is “Rock around a Pumpkin” and will feature a craft show, scarecrow contest and parade.
- Design Core Detroit’s 14th annual Detroit Month of Design takes place at multiple locations across the city through Sept. 30. The closing celebration will be held Sept. 28 at Michigan Central.
