Jollibee has expanded to Michigan. The well-known Filipino fast-food chain held a grand opening for its new Sterling Heights location last year. It’s known for its fried chicken, peach mango pie, and Filipino-style spaghetti. ‘The Chinese Lady,’ play about the first Chinese woman in America, premiered in Michigan
“The Chinese Lady,” a play about the first Chinese woman to set foot on United States soil in 1834, was produced by and premiered at The Tipping Point Theatre in Northville last year. The play tells the story of Afong Moy, a 14-year-old who was put on public display for nearly 50 years for curious Americans to view. One Detroit’s Bill Kubota reported on the play and its significance to American history.
