Remembering Benny Napoleon

Detroit PBS spent some time with Benny Napoleon in 2014 when the Wayne County Sheriff talked to producer Bill Kubota about some of the famous Detroit brands he remembered.

As a police officer he said he loved going to Duly’s Coney Island in Southwest Detroit and Sanders chocolate cake.

He told us his mother once worked at the Sanders bakery.

But the first brand he mentioned was the Sibley Shoes store on Woodward Avenue, where he told us he worked while still attending Cass Tech High School.
