One Detroit’s storytelling takes viewers beyond the headlines, offering context and understanding of crucial issues affecting our communities.
Our team has earned numerous accolades including duPont-Columbia and Emmy awards, as well as honors from the Michigan Association of Broadcasters and the Society of Professional Journalists. In 2024, One Detroit earned a Michigan Emmy in the Public Affairs Program category and won a Public Media Award in the News and Public Affairs category from the National Educational Telecommunications Association (NETA) for its reporting on Michigan’s formerly incarcerated population.
The weekly TV show airs Thursdays at 7:30 p.m. on Detroit PBS (Channel 56) and repeats Sundays at 9 a.m.

Ed Moore is the vice president of content at Detroit PBS. Winner of the Alfred I. DuPont-Columbia University award, numerous Emmys, and other awards, Ed began his career in documentary filmmaking after graduating from the University of Michigan with a Master of Arts degree. For those who remember cable TV, Moore produced for nearly every network including the Discovery Channel, The Learning Channel, MTV, ABC Sports and World News Tonight, CBS Sports, PBS NewsHour, and NBC Nightly News.
Moore joined Detroit PBS in 2009 spearheading its journalism and energy &amp; environment initiatives in One Detroit and Great Lakes Now respectively. Moving his team to the Detroit Historical Museum, Moore pioneered the engagement-to-content model that Detroit PBS uses today – getting face-to-face with community leaders, stakeholders, and neighborhood residents – and using their feedback to guide content. From this model, Detroit PBS’s local content has included sustained coverage of racial injustice, environmental justice, police reform, neighborhood and community rebuilding, workforce equity and development, and much more.
In addition to his current duties, Moore has reformatted its flagship arts and culture offering, Detroit Performs into a live performance program produced at the Marygrove Theatre in an effort to connect performers and organizations to Detroit PBS’s vast audience. Since relaunching Detroit Performs in 2021, Moore led collaborations with the Detroit Public Theatre, the Detroit Opera, and many other important arts and cultural organizations.
As leader of Detroit PBS’s arts &amp; culture initiative, Moore also leads Detroit’s only classical and jazz radio station, 90.9 WRCJ.

Ed Moore

Zosette Guir is the managing producer at Detroit PBS’s One Detroit. After receiving her bachelor’s degree in Communications Studies from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Zosette worked on various production projects in the Metro Detroit area, including Autoweek’s Vinsetta Garage, the Ernst &amp; Young Entrepreneur of the Year Awards for Crain’s Detroit Business, Detroit Performs, Great Lakes Now: Connect, and The Seven Generation River.
She has also worked on nationally distributed documentaries such as: When I’m 65 and Ride the Tiger. She is now the managing producer for One Detroit, which focuses on journalism based on immersive community engagement. She has worked on award-winning productions and has been honored with awards by the Society of Professional Journalists/Detroit and MAB – Michigan Association of Broadcasters.
She was also recently named a cohort fellow for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting Editorial Integrity and Leadership Initiative, which provides training to public media newsroom leaders through Arizona State University’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication.

Elisha Anderson

Bill has produced, written, directed, and lensed local, regional, and national documentaries for broadcast since the 1980s. His national projects include co-producing the Dupont Columbia Journalism award-winning Beyond The Light Switch series for Detroit PBS.
He recently directed the PBS documentary The Ethanol Effect for Detroit PBS. With his production company, KDN Films, he directed Lustron – The House America’s Been Waiting For working with Ohio State University Public Television and the primetime national network broadcast of Most Honorable Son presented by PBS and NET Nebraska.
His work has also appeared on PBS NewsHour, ABC News, CBS News, and ESPN. He’s worked as a producer, photographer, on-air reporter, and news assignment manager for television stations in Lansing, Flint, and Detroit. He’s currently working on short films that look at the major issues facing Detroit for Detroit PBS, One Detroit, and Detroit PBS's Great Lakes Now.

Bill Kubota

Will Glover studied film at Eastern Michigan University and received his Associate Degree in Digital Video Production &amp; Documentary Film from Washtenaw Community College.
As a first-place winner of the 2018 Society of Professional Journalists Award for Excellence in Journalism, Will has helmed dozens of productions, conducted interviews spanning elected officials to world-famous artists, and hosts One Detroit’s weekly update online. He currently leads One Detroit’s Future of Work initiative, hosting monthly town halls on topics involving Michigan’s workplaces, workforce, and the work itself.
Whether it’s underwriting voice-overs or narrating stories from One Detroit and Great Lakes Now you’ll hear his voice throughout Detroit PBS programming. Sometimes referred to as a rising star, Will’s focus is on his craft, finding the stories and voices that capture the truth. Will Glover

Daphne Hughes is a producer for One Detroit, and the lead producer for Detroit PBS’s Emmy Award-winning television show “American Black Journal.” Hughes is a former news manager and producer/writer at WDIV-TV and a senior communications specialist at Mort Crim Communications, Inc.
She has produced several television programs, including a half-hour Detroit PBS show focusing on The Skillman Foundation’s “Good Schools in Detroit” initiative and a 13-part series on the Detroit Rescue Mission Ministries, which aired on WDIV-TV.

Daphne Hughes

Born and raised in the suburbs of Detroit with a lifelong passion for filmmaking, Chris studied film and television production at Syracuse University’s SI Newhouse School of Public Communications in upstate New York.
After graduation, he moved back to Detroit to work in Michigan’s then-growing film industry, before pivoting into documentary work. He joined Detroit PBS in 2012, working as a cameraman and later as a lighting director on numerous local and national shows, including One Detroit’s predecessor MiWeek. He has been with One Detroit since its first episode, as the show’s primary editor and one of its core camera operators, and loves the opportunities the show gives him to channel his passion as a documentary filmmaker into telling uniquely and authentically Detroit stories.
Chris has also contributed original interviews and short documentary pieces to One Detroit as well as Detroit Performs. Outside of his work at Detroit PBS, Chris continues to work on independent documentary and film projects and is also a film critic for The Movie Sleuth.

Chris Jordan

From One Detroit’s website to social media, copywriting, and other marketing needs, Jonathan oversees One Detroit’s digital presence. Prior to his role at Detroit PBS, he worked with business clients at a local marketing agency and reported the news as a multimedia journalist in several metro Detroit communities. Jonathan earned two Bachelor’s Degrees in Journalism and Professional Writing from Michigan State University (Go green!).
As a lifelong writer and storyteller, Jonathan has produced and edited content ranging from creative storytelling, news articles, magazine features, nonprofit copywriting, operational manuals, marketing copywriting, blogs, events copy and more. His Midwest roots allow him to tap into everyday life and connect with people personally through his writing, no matter how broad the audience is. In his free time, Jonathan loves fresh air, live music, and quality time with family and friends.

Jonathan Shead

Stephen Henderson is the current host of WDET’s Detroit Today and former Pulitzer Prize-winning editorial page editor of The Detroit Free Press. A Detroit native, Henderson is a graduate of the University of Detroit Jesuit High School and the University of Michigan.
He has worked previously as a reporter, editorial writer and editor at the Baltimore Sun, the Chicago Tribune and the Knight Ridder Washington bureau, where he covered the Supreme Court from 2003-2007. Henderson’s work has been honored with more than a dozen national awards, including for work that is published in the book, “Best Newspaper Writing 2001.” Henderson connects to readers and viewers with perspective and passionate opinion. Nolan Finley is the Editorial Page Editor of The Detroit News, a position he’s held since May 1, 2000. He directs the expression of the newspaper’s editorial position on various national and local issues and also writes a column in the Thursday and Sunday newspapers. Prior to that, Finley was the newspaper’s Deputy Managing Editor, directing the newsroom. Previously, he served as Business Editor, and in various editing positions on the city, state and metro desks. He was also a reporter, covering Detroit City Hall during the Coleman Young administration.
Finley has been with the newspaper since 1976, starting as a copyboy in the newsroom while a student at Wayne State University. Nolan also co-hosts One Detroit show on Detroit PBS and often appears on Flashpoint on WDIV. He is a graduate of both Schoolcraft College in Livonia and Wayne State, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in journalism. In 2012, Nolan was inducted into the Michigan Journalism Hall of Fame.

Sarah Zientarski-Smith is a graduate of The University of Michigan and an Emmy Award-winning television producer who started out in the sports radio and television industry at 97.1 The Ticket and ESPN and weaved her way into producing a vast array of documentaries, specials, and public service announcements.
She has worked on the Emmy Award-winning productions: “Detroit Performs,” “Great Teachers,” “Arab American Stories,” “Blue Ice: The Story of Michigan Hockey,” “The Passing of the Torch,” and “Making the Music with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra.” She’s also the recipient of multiple Michigan Association of Broadcasters awards.
